peter pan camp

Clara and Noah participated in theater camp that prepared and preformed Peter Pan in just one week of practice.  Noah was a pirate (Shmee) and Clara got to be a fairy and an indian.  It exceeded all expectations. The kids absolutely LOVED going, participating and even performing.  My parents actually started dating while performing "Annie get your Gun" that my Grandpa directed then while Josh and I were engaged I choreographed and we both performed in "Hello Dolly" so I guess this makes the forth generation of musical performers.  The setting, the story of Peter Pan  is so magical.  The music has lingered with us all summer because of a CD recording they gave us to practice everytime we are in the car we listen and sing along.  I think the rest of my days I will have a sweet tender feeling come over me when I hear the lovely music.  I am so grateful my friend hosted and shared her SUPER talented sister for the week.  If you ever have the chance to have your children attend Cooney Camp,  make it happen!

Didn't mind the makeup, hair was a different story

Miss Sally was a darling teacher.

Clara was quite the performer in June.  It started with her end of year preschool performance and then her FIRST dance recital.  I was so proud of how brave she is.  Her pre-ballet class performed with the whole dance school program on a large stage, full audience, and with high school girls.  She looked so beautiful!

fun run 2012

We hope we started a tradition...both Josh and I ran the entire fun run with Noah.  I was a bit intimidated when I arrived wearing denim shorts and seeing all these spandax clad/ sweat band sporting athletes (I mean, parents).  I mean its an elementary school fun run, right?  It is about a 3 mile course. Next year I may actually even wear active gear.  They start the race oldest grades down so Noah's class was the last to start the course.  Noah was looking everywhere for us at the start but as soon as we met up he took off and never stopped.  It was truly awesome.  Josh and I were so impressed,(and exhausted) keeping up with him.  We were dosing him with water as he kept on running.  He came in within the first third of the school and definately among the first kindergarteners to finish.  I think we may have discovered a new talent in our boy!   It was such a joy to share that one on one with Noah and Josh.
