Row's 1st haircut

Rowan's first haircut was so fun. Clara was getting her pumped about it all day sharing all the perks of cookie cutters...movies, suckers, balloons, and sparkles in your hair. We left the length to enjoy those ringlet curls as long as we can.

Clara opted for a shoulder length cut to help manage the pain of brushing those long tresses.

Ski lessons

Noah started ski school at solitude with a friend. He loves it. He's been a trooper in the extra cold temps (-5) josh took him last time and did 3 runs with him at the end of the day. Josh has been dreaming of this for years.

Winter break Fun

Josh made a great effort to make the week after Christmas special for the kids. I was pretty sick so it meant even more. He took the kids swimming several times, sledding, frosty runs, and when I felt a little better we ventured out for some local adventures. Breakfast at kneaders, aquarium, bowling, scheels, and movies. 2012 was a special year.

Christmas Day

Morning of, Noah woke up Clara first to tell her Santa brought Rebecca (the American girl doll of her dreams) and then woke us to say he got a mountain bike with TWO shocks! :)

Ben loved his radio flyer. He can open the door, turn the music on, and cruise around.


He's smiling now but pretty possessive one of the only thing he can call his own.


The gloves and dirt bike shirt were a big hit too.


Clara is such a good mommy to her Rebecca, look at those pretty twinners :)





Row's favorites were her glow lights, candy and my little ponies castle.

We had lemon crepes played and had a simple dinner with some family.

Family Christmas Parties

The family Christmas parties are my favorite traditions.

The Sanders party was actually at our house this year. It was great to use the stage for the first time. We followed the itinerary pretty close... It started with snowman games, a story, yummy soups/salad/rolls/dessert, family program(each siblings family contributes an act--there was guitars/flute/singing/dancing, singing Christmas hymns, and ends with a gift exchange (family to family). Singing with my family is definitely the highlight for me.








Stika family Christmas is always held on Christmas eve. It is a laid back affair. The storm at the point of the Mt. almost kept us from it. The kids run upstairs to see the magical snow village, eat yummy food, and enjoy Grammy Pat's great talent of gift giving.

Such a sweet program. I loved they used a pianist and Santa even came for a visit (not that our little Clara would come close enough for a visit).


She chose her outfit and said, "This is a movie star outfit, right."

Homemade handicraft

A little modpodge, 50 cent DI book, and glitter and I was able to make family ornaments and a tree to add to our Christmas decor this year.

Sleigh ride in midway

Except not quite enough snow so it was a carriage ride. We had quite the character for a driver. So beautiful, quite cold, a fun memory for all.

Sunday Best

I think because my children run around like little ragamuffins most of the week I always like taking a picture when they're all groomed nicely for church. They look so cute in their Christmas finest.
